Great American State Fair on National Mall — Plan Your DC Independence Eve
Freedom 250 has announced the Great American State Fair, a 16-day celebration running June 25 through July 10, 2026 on the National Mall. All 50 states, territories, and federal agencies will be represented, with the July 4 peak featuring a presidential keynote and what organizers describe as the largest pyrotechnics display in world history. The Countdown 250 Ball falls squarely within Fair week — taking place the evening of July 3 at the historic Washington Hilton, three blocks from the Mall. For visitors planning their DC 250th anniversary trip, the pairing is natural: the Fair by day, the Ball by night, the nation's 250th birthday fireworks the next morning.
