A Bell Forged from History

Forged from Sacred Steel

America’s Freedom Bell was created by the Spirit of Liberty Foundation as a tribute to America’s Armed Forces and the enduring ideals of liberty. The bell carries a powerful inscription: “Honoring Our Armed Forces Past, Present and Future.”

Its history and symbolism make it an especially meaningful centerpiece for America’s 250th birthday celebration. Through this partnership, the Freedom Bell’s message of service, sacrifice, resilience, and unity will be carried into the heart of Independence Weekend in Washington, D.C.

The Family Behind the Journey

Serving Those Who Serve

As America approaches its 250th birthday, Kevin Fahlund is nearing the conclusion of a 30-year career in the United States Navy. Rather than simply marking the end of that chapter, Kevin and his family are undertaking a cross-country mission of patriotism, remembrance, and gratitude.

Joined by his wife, Susan, and their children, Reagan and Gage, Kevin plans to help escort America’s Freedom Bell from San Diego to Washington, D.C., sharing its message of liberty and service at stops across the country.

For Kevin and his family, the journey is deeply personal: a way to honor service members, veterans, military families, and all those who have sacrificed for the freedoms America celebrates.

That human story is a powerful part of the Freedom Bell’s journey to Countdown 250 — a family carrying a symbol of freedom across America, communities gathering along the way, and a final midnight ringing in Washington, D.C. as America enters its 250th birthday.
